Upgrade to Edgy eft

The upgrade from Ubuntu Dapper to Edgy Eft.

Note: at this time the beta 1 is just released, but I got too curious.

What I did:

Backup all system files

# sudo apt-get update
# sudo apt-get upgrade
# sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
# apt-get remove compiz
Replace every occurrance of the word dapper with edgy:

# perl -p -i -e 's/dapper/edgy/g' /etc/apt/sources.list
Check the sources.list, maybe some of your repos will stop working.
I also did 'apt-get remove compiz' to help the transition to beryl go better... not sure what the status on beryl currently is...
# sudo apt-get update
# sudo apt-get upgrade
878 upgraded, 101 newly installed, 13 to remove and 37 not upgraded.
Need to get 727MB of archives.
After unpacking 183MB of additional disk space will be used.
Do you want to continue [Y/n]? y    
Luckily at 1.5 MB/s this process took only 24 minutes :-)
# apt-get install util-linux-locales
# apt-get autoremove
(Saved this blog entry to prepare for a reboot)
Came back from the reboot without any problems. I will update this topic if there are problems.

These will be the main sources for beryl:
deb http://dev.realistanew.com/beryl edgy beryl
deb http://beryl-mirror.lupine.me.uk/beryl edgy beryl

Ik zal binnenkort ook de overstap maken. Hij komt als het goed is in een week uit...

Ik draai het nu 4 dagen probleemloos. Wel elke dag nog ongeveer 100MB aan updates. Ze zijn dus nu vrij heftig aan het updaten.

Ik draai hem nu enige tijd stabiel. Alles ziet er echt mooier uit dan Dapper, dus ik denk dat het zeker een succes zal worden. De release datum is de 24ste (October), dus nog 10 dagen vanaf deze postdatum...
